ELLA THE JELLYFISH 🪼
What I contributed
I led the creative development of the first-ever Amazon Alexa skill designed specifically for children with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) and their families. This initiative aimed to break through the isolation often felt by kids with LGS, offering them a fun and engaging way to connect with their loved ones and the world around them.
Crafting the magic
Understanding the unique challenges faced by children with LGS, I created the persona of Ella the Jellyfish—an approachable, friendly character who could guide them through stories, games, and meditations. I crafted the entire script for the Alexa skill, ensuring it was both entertaining and sensitive to the needs of our audience. Beyond the Alexa experience, I extended Ella’s presence across multiple channels, including Facebook, Instagram ads, email campaigns, PR, and launch materials, ensuring a cohesive brand experience.
Rolling with the punches
This project required a high level of empathy and adaptability. I continuously refined the content to ensure it was engaging and accessible, adapting the creative to resonate with both children and their families. This process deepened my understanding of how technology can be leveraged for inclusive brand experiences.
How it paid off
Ella the Jellyfish not only provided a much-needed outlet for children with LGS but also strengthened the bond between them and their families. The skill was well-received, and the supporting campaigns helped amplify its reach, allowing more families to discover and benefit from this innovative tool. The project highlighted the potential for creative, technology-driven solutions, particularly in addressing niche audiences.
